Dundee Airport is a small airport located close to the centre of Dundee, Scotland. The airport opened in 1963 with the first scheduled service beginning in 1966. The short runway at Dundee Airport is insufficient for the requirements of larger aircraft such as the Boeing 737; this is the reason that low-cost airlines have largely overlooked the airport during the budget travel boom. Despite this there are several regular scheduled flights from Dundee Airport to domestic destinations within the United Kingdom and Channel Islands, plus seasonal charter services in the holiday season. Passenger numbers currently average around 50,000 a year, though this is looking to be increased in the near future. The terminal building was opened in 1997 and provides offers the facilities expected from a modern airport.

Air France and Flybe provide scheduled flights from Dundee Airport. Flybe provides seasonal flights to Jersey and regular services to George Best Belfast City Airport and Birmingham International Airport; the latter two services are operated by Loganair. Air France offers just one route, to London-City Airport, which is operated by CityJet. VLM Airlines is currently the sole charter carrier serving the airport; it offers charter flights from Dundee Airport to Jersey. There are plans to open up flights to Dundee Airport from Amsterdam in a bid to improve business links between the two cities, it is hoped that these will begin in the near future. If you can’t find flights to or from Dundee Airport then the nearest alternatives are the airports in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Dundee Airport is just a mile or so from the city centre so getting to and from the terminal building from central Dundee is a straightforward affair. The airport is a 5-minute taxi ride from the cities main bus and railway stations. Those arriving/departing by car will find directions to/from the airport well sign posted.
